Elections 2007 Celebrations
Elections 2007 on 24 November will be remembered in Australian history as one in which the Prime Minister was defeated in his own seat. Hopefully, it signals the beginning of a new chapter in which progress is through harmony and the society is not exploited through its fear - of Asians, unionists, terrorists, Muslims or whoever that happens to be a convenient target of the time.

Walking away from John Howard ?
Kay's Birthday
Experiencing the A380
On my first flight on the A380, I took video clips expecting a totally new experience . . . (but you may find it boringly ordinary !). . .
The inside of the aircraft had a fresh look about it. The economy class seats were more spacious than the old 747, probably similar to the 777. The entertainment system was much better, larger and higher resolution screens and more sensibly located controls. Interestingly, it features word processors, spreadsheets and powerpoint softwares, USB port for flash drive storage and video socket to take a laptop connection. However I can't see how one can work on the tiny QWERTY keyboard on the back of the entertainment system controls. There is also a LAN socket but the stewardess told me that broadband Internet is not yet available.
The quieter engines made the flight more comfortable; also, there seemed to be shorter queues for the loos. The PA system was as lousy as ever - we still have trouble hearing the announcements most times. Everything else were much the same, down to the smiles of the stewards and stewardesses !
